Of Triceps and Temptations!

Why is it that it's so difficult for me to tone my triceps? Ever since I lost a lot of weight (after 4 months of working out in the gym), I couldn't just easily tone it. But the good thing is: I was able to develop my muscles well. Still, there's that jiggly stuff that I really don't like to look at when I extend my arms sideways.

One of my instructors, Aileen, said that I should be lifting heavier weights and do the triceps exercises. Heavy but brief reps. If I use lighter weights and more reps, it'll just make me lose more fat but not much on toning my arm. On the other hand, Cathy, my aerobics instructor said, I could do more of the taebo workout for arms to tone my upper arm. Using lighter weights during aerobics would help greatly too, according to her.

I'd have to try both to maximize my results tho. And so far, after about 2 weeks of doing what they've taught me, I could feel that arms are getting into shape. It's not that visible yet, as I still get some jiggling fat. But the muscles are firmer and I like it.

Another instructor friend of mine, Marlon, said that maybe it's my diet. Having a balanced nutrition along with properly executed workout will make me reach my goals really fast. And I guess he's absolutely right!

Lately, I haven't been feeling good -- stress at work and at home can really disrupt your well-planned diet. And having not enough money to buy my whole wheat bread, low-fat milk, and oatmeal, will have to make me eat the high-fat, high-cal foods at home that my parents buy (take note: I'm still living with my folks...hehe...). So, it's all a matter of strategy. Even if I'm surrounded with these sweet, tasty, high-cal foodstuff, it's the discipline in me that will determine my achievement. And it's so hard to resist temptations!!

Speaking of which, for the last 2 weeks of complaining about my jiggly triceps, I've also been digging into some really good durian that my aunt sent from her farm in Bukidnon. Hmmm....hmmm...Not just that, my pregnant sis can't resist chocolates and she has stacked up a lot of chocs and choc cookies & cakes in the fridge -- oh, yeah!!! Gotta taste those too!

Chocolate temptation has been my craving since time immemorial. (Most girls would agree too, don't ya!?!) And it does help in relieving the stress that builds-up in you. It helps me relax and the taste is just heavenly.

Anyway, I'm really hoping that this sloppy discipline in achieving my fitness goals would just be temporary. The determination to change my body into an amazingly fit one is still burning passionately. And this blog (also the one in wordpress) were born out of this fitness dream.

A Fresh New Day

There's always a rainbow after the rain...

Ah, it's a wonderful afternoon to have a workout session. The fresh wind on your face right after a milk rainshower is totally refreshing. Most especially after you had some pretty bad day yesterday....hmmm...hmmm...won't be talking about that, but instead, let me share with you what I've seen on TV just today! :D

For the past 4 months, I have been working my butt out in the gym. I've lost about 10lbs already and has been maintaining my weight at about 126-128lbs. But I wanted to lose more weight after I saw that TV program, "THE BIGGEST LOSER" (you can check them out here on the web). That was a total wow!!!

It's amazing to see really OBESE people working towards their goal of having a fit body, and they did!! Even after being eliminated from the contest (it's just like the Amazing Race, Fear Factor, etc.), those who were out of the game didn't stop themselves from reaching their dreams. And I was so inspired (TOTALLY!!!) with the "Before-After" pics when they showed off their current fit selves beside their really fat bodies before.

I wanted my mom to see the show. Too bad she was asleep when I was watching it. But i'll try to convince her somehow. I'll show her the website instead. Show her the videos and I hope she'll be inspired. She already said that she got inspired after seeing me lose weight and having a nice sexy shape than 4 months ago. She's eager to start her workout but she doesn't seem to be motivated to go to the gym. When we'll both have enough time, I'll really take her to the gym and introduce her to my fitness instructors, Kathy and Marlon, so they could help her create a program for herself. I could make the program for Mom, but it's best if I let the experts do it for her, and so that she won't get too laxed to follow the program.

I'm always hoping for the best.

Later folks!
